Title:New icon/tool dock with a lot of features/visual effects
Synopsis:
New icon/tool dock with a lot of features/visual effects

Sorry, but I don't see the point in creating a clone of AmiDock when the original could be improved. Sure, AmiDock isn't perfect but it already allows cool visual effects through dockies.
Just my opinion, but to me the efforts to create a new dock system from scratch could be used to create new dockies.

Could be because amidock updates are few and very far between and that there's a lot of base functionality that it is missing that dockies themselves can't fix.

Besides, having choice is never a bad idea. Do note that the project priority is low, meaning:

Low
    This project probably overlaps something that Hyperion is already doing or it has simply been deemed as not important.

OpenAmiga isn't about blocking peoples creativity, if someone wants to work on such a project then they're welcome to do so, but it's not prioritized.

I don't know what all kinds of things are possible within dockies. Well, if AmiDock had arexx interface it would make this project even less useful.

@TSK

Sure, AmiDock doesn't support ARexx but one could create a docky with an AREXX port to add new commands (e.g. dock hiding, moving, creation...).

@centaurz

one could create a docky with an AREXX port to add new commands (e.g. dock hiding, moving, creation...).

Is that possible ? I don't know how flexible dockies can be and what are their limitations. One thing somebody was moaning on AW.net thread is f.ex. minimizer docky minimizes the panel itself but can't hide the title bar. And Minimizer's icon is visible on a panel when it's unnecessary to be visible. (I know this might sound nitpicking. But hey, we're Amigans we want perfection ;-) And f.ex. I don't like how Mac docky is implemented because it uses its own (limited) prefs tool. But if we can make AmiDock better with "super" dockies then I can cancel this BenchBar project.

Thanks for the comments.
